story of『慣』
Warm afternoon sunlight
filled the tatami room
with quiet comfort.
Holding a piece of fabric carefully,
the young girl
stitched one small seam at a time
under her grandmother's gentle guidance.
There was a time
when even holding the needle
felt difficult.
The thread became tangled.
She sometimes pricked her fingers.
Yet day after day,
she continued.
Little by little,
her hands began to move
with growing confidence.
Her grandmother smiled warmly.
"You're much better than yesterday."
Outside on the veranda,
a young boy quietly swept the fallen leaves.
His movements,
once awkward,
had become smooth and natural
through daily practice.
Nearby,
a cat slept peacefully,
trusting the calm rhythm of the home.
An ordinary afternoon.
An ordinary family.
An ordinary day.
Yet it is these quiet repetitions
that slowly shape our lives.
To become familiar with something
is not a gift we are born with.
It is the result
of choosing to begin again,
every single day.
With patience,
small efforts
become lifelong strength.
