passage
story of『歴』
At sunset, a lone warrior stands—
not upon a battlefield, but upon layers of time.
Pottery rests beneath the soil.
Broken pillars rise like memory.
An open book gathers dust.
In the distance, a castle glows.
Beyond it, vanished eras.
The kanji 歴 does not mean “history” alone.
It means passing through.
Walking across what came before.
Battles.
Daily lives.
Written records.
Forgotten names.
All layered beneath our steps.
This is not a story of victory.
It is a story of continuity.
We, too, stand within 歴.
