worldview of『隊』
A single drum can make music.
A single trumpet can make a beautiful sound.
But a marching band can create something that no one person can make alone.
Someone walks in front.
Someone supports from behind.
Someone gives the signal.
Someone else sees that signal and plays the next note.
There is no need for everyone to do the same thing.
In fact, it is because their roles are different that a larger rhythm can emerge.
Moving together does not mean erasing who we are.
It means keeping our own sound while listening to the sounds beside us.
It means knowing our own pace while sometimes adjusting it to match another person’s steps.
And when someone falls a little behind, it means not simply leaving them there.
Every person in a 隊 matters.
If one person disappears, their particular sound disappears too.
So becoming one does not mean becoming the same.
It means learning how to move together while remaining different.
Each child marching down the spring road creates a different sound.
Yet from a distance, all those sounds become one piece of music.
Perhaps 隊 is the image of many individual “I”s remaining themselves while choosing to walk toward the same tomorrow together.

story of『隊』
It was the day of the spring festival.
Colorful flags fluttered above the village street, and people had been gathering since morning.
From somewhere in the distance came the sound of drums.
Boom, boom, boom.
Soon, a children’s marching band appeared around the corner.
At the front walked a little girl, gripping her baton with a mixture of excitement and nervousness.
Behind her came children carrying drums.
Children playing trumpets.
Others carrying larger instruments.
Each had a different sound to make.
When they first began practicing, the girl had thought only about playing her own part well.
But their teacher had told them something important.
“If you listen only to your own sound, you can never march together.”
Little by little, the girl learned to listen to the drum beside her.
She learned to wait for the trumpet behind her.
And instead of feeling only her own footsteps, she began to notice the footsteps of everyone around her.
Today, all those sounds had finally become one as they moved through the village.
Applause rose from both sides of the street.
The girl did not turn around.
She did not need to.
She knew her friends were there behind her.
A great sound that no one could make alone.
A long procession that no one could form alone.
The girl lifted her baton high.
At her signal, everyone stepped forward together.
One step.
Then another.
Many separate individuals lined up, shared one rhythm, and moved forward as a single 隊.
