技 – Technique | Kanji Art
under soft spring light in a shrine courtyard,
a brother and sister stand facing each other.
the boy wears kendo armor, calm and steady;
the girl holds her shinai with both hands,
eyes shining with a mix of awe and determination,
as he gently guides her grip and stance.
each swing is still clumsy,
yet every small correction,
every shared laugh,
quietly takes root inside her body
as a new “waza” — a budding technique.
the kanji “技” (waza) speaks of skill and craft,
but at its heart
lies a simple truth:
technique is not born in an instant —
it is passed from hand to hand,
moment by moment.
this artwork captures
the beauty of learning and inheriting skill,
beneath falling cherry blossoms,
painted in gentle Japanese watercolor hues.
